Eric Delgado
Lead Design Engineer, R&D
Eric graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Manufacturing. Foregoing a minor, he opted for a comprehensive major that included additional focus on Fluid Power and Hydraulics and also Drafting and Design. Eric was an active student member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), a Dean’s list Scholar, and also served on the executive board of Theta Xi Fraternity for three consecutive years.
Eric recently began working with GenAcc™, LLC as a Lead Design Engineer in Research and Development for product integration.
Prior to GenAcc™, LLC, Eric was employed at eServ, LLC from Jan, 2000 - April, 2009. At eServ, Eric was hired in as a lead designer working on various industrial and engine applications for eServ’s client, Caterpillar. While supporting Caterpillar, Eric successfully completed many Caterpillar sponsored seminars including: Advanced Casting and Forging Design, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and also received certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. His initial design focus was on complex castings for engine applications where he saw the need for more complex geometric tolerance stacks and analyses. Eric then received training for Variation Simulation Analysis (VSA) Software to provide a more comprehensive assembly/tolerancing and visualization tool to the customer. Eric also received advanced training at Unigraphics training center in Detroit for more advanced and complex applications for VSA. Eric was soon promoted to lead the analysis department at eServ’s Peoria office. In this position, Eric worked with internal and customer teams to provide workflow and scheduling for the FEA and Dimensional Analysis Groups. After working in this role for a few years, Eric then moved into a new position, leading a design team for Caterpillar’s Engine Research Group at their Mossville Technical Center. While working within this group, Eric’s team focused on engine development for highly advanced test engines that were focused on proving out emerging technologies. Eric received high praise from Caterpillar on his first program and successfully supported Caterpillar from all aspects of development including: test engineers, cell operators, additional design support, detailing support, coordination between Caterpillar’s design team and eServ’s support teams, provided supplier and manufacturing coordination for prototype parts, coordinated test builds and procurement while constantly monitoring budgetary guidelines. Eric received four certificates of appreciation, in addition to other rewards, for his participation in Caterpillar programs. Eric served eServ in this capacity for approximately 4 years when he was promoted to Senior Sales Engineer, where he then managed various customer accounts and internal engineering teams. Eric was responsible for customer satisfaction, scheduling, budget tracking & reporting, sales, and employee satisfaction all while still providing mentoring and engineering support when needed. Eric also received many internal awards for performance while employed at eServ.

His team provided detailing support, assembly support, casting, sheet metal, structure, and fluid line design support. Eric also worked directly with rapid prototyping facilities to improve part design and manufacturing processes.
Eric also worked at Advanced Cad/Cam Service (ACCS) for approximately two years prior to employment with CBT. At ACCS, he learned the basics in Pro/Engineer software design. Eric provided on-site contract engineering services for Caterpillar’s Engine Division at Mossville building VV. There he worked as designer and detailer in areas such as sheet metal, structures, weldments and basic castings for D7X projects.
Before getting his feet wet in the product-engineering field, Eric also worked at Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville, Illinois. There he served as a Quality Assurance Technician whose department was responsible for quality of final product of all steel rod manufactured at the plant. At Keystone, Eric gained working knowledge of foundry, casting, rolling, drawing, and other manufacturing processes used throughout the steel making process. He was part of a three-man team to start and run a new, on site, Quality Assurance Lab, addressing all quality related concerns. The team helped set up and establish procedures for various types of mechanical testing, pursing ISO 9000. Types of testing performed were tensile, compaction, visual, and micros on grain structures.
Eric’s internship out of college was working with Mid Century Telephone Cooperative as a CAD Department Coordinator. There he helped coordinate and start a complete in-house CAD mapping department utilizing AutoCAD R.13 and AutoCAD Map R.14 for all existing phone lines and cable. Eric was responsible for updating and transferring all hand-drawn maps and telephone line schematics into AutoCAD.
